Community High School Student Council Toy Drive
Once again the CHS Student Council delighted the children at the Happy Day Childcare at the YMCA in Hackensack. Council members added to the festivities by dressing up as Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty and Santa’s elves.
The morning was spent visiting the children in their classrooms and leading them in holiday songs. Of course, the highlight for everyone was the visit with Santa where the children received gifts and stuffed animals.
Thanks to the generosity of the Community School families, friends, and alumni, there were plenty of toys, stuffed animals, and books to go around. An arrangement was made with the YMCA to distribute the extra toys to families in the local community who were in need. The CHS student council is grateful to everyone for the support.
It was difficult to tell who enjoyed the day more - the nursery school children or CHS’s elves!
